Three weeks after Roberto Silva Jr. pleaded guilty to killing two Sonic restaurant employees, his attorneys have filed a motion to determine his mental competency.

According to the resolution, the county received three anonymous complaints alleging Strigenz was having an interpersonal relationship with a subordinate. The resolution states Strigenz was asked to resign, but refused. The Sarpy County Public Defender is an elected position. The board does not have the power to fire him. Sarpy County hired an independent firm to investigate the allegations. The resolution states Strigenz refused to cooperate with the investigation and that he likely threatened and intimidated witnesses. Since the Board cannot vote to remove him, the resolution is being issued to object to Strigenz s alleged conduct and encourage employees with information or concerns to report to Human Resources.
