KARACHI: The Special Investigation Unit on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a suspected militant and described him as a “motivated bomber”.
SIU SSP Haider Raza said acting on a tip-off police arrested Nazeerullah from Manghopir Road and recovered explosives and an unlicensed pistol from him.
During the course of interrogation, he disclosed that his father, Abdullah Khan, had close affiliation with Taliban ‘commander’ Ehsanullah Ehsan and on the instructions of his father he joined Ehsan who had motivated him to carry out bomb attacks against security forces and also provided him a motorcycle to use in attacks.
The Taliban ‘commander’ also motivated another would-be suicide bomber, Junaid, to carry out attacks.

Police said Mufti Saleemullah Khan, 40, was travelling in a car with his family and two students when a gunman riding pillion on a motorcycle opened fire on him near MPR Colony. He suffered bullet wounds and was taken to a private hospital for treatment.

KARACHI: A pre-dawn gun attack on Tuesday left four young social media influencers, including a woman, dead in the Garden area where they were roaming and filming themselves apparently for their TikTok followers, officials said.
The incident remains a mystery for investigators, who were not sure about the exact motive behind the deadly attack but are considering the possibility that some personal enmity may be behind the killings.
They said they gathered initial information through mobile phone records of the victims which suggested they were on a planned road trip and nothing emerged suspicious from their phone record.
