IHC forms medical board on Zardari’s bail plea
His lawyer added that the former president is currently suffering from heart, chest, diabetes and other ailments

ISLAMABAD:
A division bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) constituted on Tuesday a medical board on a petition for pre-arrest bail of former president Asif Ali Zardari in a case of Rs8 billion suspicious transaction and sought its report by January 28.
Farooq H Naek, lawyer for the former president, and Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi, deputy prosecutor general of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) appeared before the bench, comprising Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani.
The Accounts Officer of the Accountant General of Pakistan Revenue (AGPR), Abdul Rasheed Khan, has submitted a comprehensive presidential salary record of former President, Asif Ali Zardari, to the Accountability Court.
Accountability Judge, Syed Asghar Ali, heard the case against Zardari and former Prime Minister, Yousuf Raza Gilani, among others.
During the hearing, Abdul Rashid apprised the court that Zardari’s monthly salary had been Rs. 80,000 a month, of which Rs. 7,000 was tax-deductible.
“He received a total of five million rupees, including the President’s Allowance,” the officer added.
