Plans for developing large hotels on Siesta Key took another blow Monday when a Sarasota County circuit judge sided with a Sarasota resident who said local officials violated the county's growth management policies when they approved a 170-room hotel there in 2021.
Save Siesta Key is one step closer toward incorporating their island community. The Sarasota County Legislative Delegation voted 3 to 1 Thursday afternoon to bring a bill forward to the Florida Legislature.
