Rural craftswomen are on their way to becoming “super lakhpatis” from “lakhpatis”, UP governor Anandiben Patel said on Tuesday, encouraging women across the country to work and become self-reliant.
Governor Anandiben Patel visited Saras Mela at Noida Haat. Traffic on the stretch was blocked for about 15 minutes for the VIP movement. Traffic snarls occurred on the expressway and the DND Flyway. Some visitors were not allowed to enter Shilp Haat during the VIP visit.
Women entrepreneurs stole the show at the 4th edition of the Saras Aajeevika Mela with their unique products. Over 400 rural women craftsmen showcased their crafts at the fair. Bhavna Vallabhai Rambadiya makes unique products from cow dung and exports them. Dilkash Jahan, a beaded jewelry maker, found self-sustenance and confidence at the Saras mela. The fair focuses on the economic empowerment of women.
Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra wants bar codes to be placed on the murals and sculptures installed in Ved Van Park in Noida, India. The bar codes will provide detailed information about India's ancient Vedic culture and the contributions made by the sages. Find out more about this initiative.
