SEVIERVILLE â Police charged a Knoxville woman with second-degree murder Sunday, as warrants say she fatally shot a woman during a confrontation in the parking lot of Soaky Mountain Water Park.
Thirty-one-year-old Sarah E. Romine was also charged with possession of a firearm while intoxicated and two counts of aggravated assault.
Romine fatally shot 24-year-old Kelsy Cook, of Loudon, after first firing a gun into the front of a car, according to information from Sevierville Police and from arrest warrants.
Several people confronted her after that, according to the warrants. During that altercation, Cook threw Romine to the ground and sometime after that Romine fired a shot that struck Cook in the neck, according to warrants and a SPD press release.
