The women under-19 cricketers take on a police side at the end of a watershed Super Smash season. David Williams reports Erin Bermingham reckons it’s a stitch-up. The former White Fern will captain the first police women’s cricket team in Christchurch this week against the first New Zealand under-19 women’s side. Both sides are hankering to play. The police’s inter-services tournament – against the army and air force – was cancelled, while the ICC under-19 World Cup, meant to be played in Bangladesh last month, was postponed until later this year.
