Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba lifted coronavirus-related restrictions on all Jackson businesses on Monday, meaning businesses will again be able to enjoy full occupancy and remain open at their regular hours of operation.
“We know that success at controlling the spread of this virus depends upon all of us adhering to recommended social distancing and mask-wearing guidelines,” Lumumba said in a statement. “We also recognize the economic impact that this pandemic and the resulting restrictions have had on our business community and our city.
Residents and business owners are still expected to abide by the mayor s mask mandate which requires a face covering in a public place or at work.
