Hannah Heights Homeowners Association has secured 1.2 million dollars from the state toward drilling a new well. The other million for the distribution system is pending. According to Sarah Severn, HOA board member, the system is old and in disrepair, prone to leaks, and could potentially cause recontamination.
San Juan County Department of Health and Community Services has issued a Water Quality Advisory for the Hannah Heights region of San Juan Island, and encourages residents to switch to bottled or filtered water immediately.
Students and teachers at Prairie Point Elementary School are gearing up for a donation drive next week. All the items they receive will be sent to Ukraine to help with the relief efforts during the Russian invasion.
