Watercolor exhibition: July 27-Aug. 8, Newburyport Art Association, 65 Water St., Newburyport. For information: 978-465-8769. Watercolor Interest Group of the Newburyport Art Association will hold an exhibition of watercolors “Refresh and Catch the Light.” Sixteen local and regional watercolorists’ will exhibit work that will be on view to the public and available for sale from July 27 to August 8, 2021. Come and meet the artists at the Artists’ Reception in the Sculpture Garden from 3-5 p.m. July 31. Free and Handicapped-accessible. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

ACM Book Club Mystery and History: 6:30-7:30 p.m. second Wednesdays of the month Feb. 10, March 10 and April 14. Free. For information: https://bit.ly/379PBfb. Join the Amesbury Carriage Museum’s online book club based on Edith Maxwell s award-winning “Quaker Midwife Mystery Series.” Learn about what life was like in Amesbury around 1888. Each of the five, one-hour book club sessions, December through April, will feature a historical theme or societal issue for discussion. Read the book and the supplemental historical materials to prepare for each session. ACM membership is required to participate in this program.
