Three citizen complaints against the Anne Arundel County Police Department were sustained in 2022, two of which involved unconstitutional search and seizures, according to investigatory documents obtained by The Capital.
Last month, the Anne Arundel County Police Accountability Board released its first annual report, a largely administrative document outlining the status of citizen complaints, its recommendations to improve the complaint process and the establishing procedures it conducted in 2022.
The county residents who were nominated were chosen by County Executive Steuart Pittman out of 89 applicants hoping to sit on the board that will log and review complaints about police misconduct.
