Hewitt-Trussville senior announces college commitment

Photo by Erik Harris On Tuesday, the team’s Twitter account posted that Class of 2022 righty Sarah Hindman has chosen Northeast Mississippi Community College as her next stop.  Hindman will be a senior on head coach Taylor Burt’s roster next season. As last year’s team leader in innings pitched (84.2), she brings tremendous experience to the circle.

By Erik Harris, sports editor Coach Taylor Burt’s girls continue to look like the lead dog in the race for the Class 7A state softball championship.  See game recaps from Hewitt-Trussville’s undefeated weekend below.  Hewitt-Trussville sweeps Hoover Classic  It was another impressive showing for the No. 1-ranked Hewitt-Trussville softball team over the weekend. The Huskies won all five of their games at the Hoover Classic, four of which came against ranked opponents.  Hewitt-Trussville (39-2-1, 4-1) opened the busy weekend with a 13-1 win over Eufala in four innings. Kenleigh Cahalan doubled twice, tripled and knocked in four runs en route to the dominant win. 

Another double-digit victory for top-ranked Hewitt

TRUSSVILLE The Hewitt-Trussville softball team claimed another mercy-rule win on Thursday night.  Freshman Sarah Hindman pitched a two-hit shutout with seven strikeouts to claim a 10-0 victory over James Clemens in five innings. Photo by Vickie Unlap Hewitt-Trussville (34-2-1, 4-1) scattered 13 hits, including 10 singles on the visitors. Crystal Maze led the charge with a 3-for-3 outing that included a double, a triple and three RBIs. Kenleigh Cahalan went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Anyce Harvey and Riley Tyree also provided multi-hit games for the top-ranked Huskies.
