Keyler appeared by video in Fort St. John Supreme Court on Monday, explaining that a new lawyer was expected to take his case for the proceedings that were scheduled today. That did not happen, with Keyler noting a completely different lawyer might represent him.
Keyler was arrested and charged at the end of July 2020 following a two-week investigation into Foord’s disappearance from her home in Taylor. RCMP said her remains were found in a remote location 75 kilometres north of Fort St. John. Keyler has not been found guilty of the charges.
Last month, Keyler was sentenced to six months in prison for possessing a rifle contrary to court orders in 2019. He remains in custody.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C – The Sarah Foord murder case is expected to proceed to a jury trial after a preliminary inquiry was held in March.
The hearing was conducted for the court to decide whether the evidence is there to convict the accused. Information from the hearing is under a publication ban.
The Crown prosecutor told
Energeticcity the case was adjourned for completion of disclosure. The process has the crown and police go over the police investigator file to redact any privileged or sensitive information, which is then given to the defence counsel. The disclosure is expected to be completed by the next court date, April 29th.
