The police said an image was shared on social media on Friday and was reported by a number of officers who were concerned by its content . The officer, a probationary constable for the Met, had been deployed as a cordon officer supporting the search operation in Kent in relation to Ms Everard s disappearance. The Met added that due to the duties the officer was carrying out at the time, a referral had been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).

Couzens will be remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on March 16 and will not be entering a plea today. He is charged with kidnap and murder of 33-year-old Sarah Everard, who went missing after walking through Clapham Common towards her house in Brixton, South London, on March 3. Mr Khan had told LBC that the streets are not safe for women or girls.
