The teenager charged in the Mayfair mall shooting will remain in juvenile court Bruce Vielmetti, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel © Michael Sears / Milwaukee Journal Sentinel A Milwaukee County sheriff s deputy with a shotgun heads back to his vehicle in the parking lot of Mayfair mall in Wauwatosa, where multiple people were shot on Friday, November 11, 2020.
Circuit Judge Brittany Grayson, appointed to the bench in 2019, issued her decision after hearing closing arguments that followed a daylong evidentiary hearing earlier in the month.
The teen is charged with eight counts of first-degree reckless injury punishable by up to 15 years in prison for adults and being a minor with a gun, a misdemeanor. He has been held in secure detention since his arrest Nov. 22. Because he has been adjudicated delinquent before, and is now facing felony charges, the public and news media can have limited access to his hearings.
