Early Wednesday morning, a man living in a West Side neighborhood answered the door to find a 9-year-old girl, bloodied, saying something was wrong with her mother.
The man told police he and his wife went to the family’s house next door.

That’s where they found the girl’s mother, 41-year-old Sara Gallegos, had been stabbed to death in her bedroom.
Sara Gallegos’s 16-year-old son, Michael Gallegos, was still at the scene, disoriented. Police say he had been seen naked and bloody, although he didn’t have any injuries, and court documents suggest he may have been on LSD. He told detectives he had no memor

According to a criminal complaint, police were called to a home in northwest Albuquerque just before 2 a.m. in regards to a disturbance at the home. When they arrived, they found the teenager outside, without clothes, covered in blood. Police say the teen was appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The complaint stated he was incoherently repeating “something bad” and “death” and told officers he had taken LSD.The teen’s mother, identified as Sara Gallegos, was in the master bedroom unresponsive.
