Indian men”s team knocks out Kazakhstan, sets up QF against top seed Korea
Tokyo : Indian men”s archery team of Pravin Jadhav, Atanu Das and Tarundeep Rai downed Kazakhstan 6-2 to set up a quarterfinal clash against heavyweights Korea at the Tokyo Olympics here on Monday.
The Indians were strong, especially Atanu Das who drilled in five perfect 10s during team”s easy win in the 1/8 Elimination round at the Yumenoshima Park.
The Kazakhstan troika of Denis Gankin, Ilfat Abdullin, Sanzhar Mussayev showed flashes of brilliance. They took the third set with one point margin.
India had on Saturday lost to Korea in their favourite mixed pair section.

Tokyo, July 26 : The Indian men s archery team reached the quarterfinals beating Kazakhstan 6-2 at the Tokyo Olympics on Monday.
The Indian team of Atanu Das, Pravin Jadhav and seasoned Tarundeep Rai defeated the Kazakhstan team of Denis Gankin, Ilfat Abdullin and Sanzhar Mussayev in a close encounter in which all four sets were decided by a single point. They will now meet top seeds South Korea in the next round.
The Indians, seeded ninth, won the first set 55-54, as Jadhav and Das scored a 10 each in the last two arrows at the Yumenoshima Park Archery Field.
