JOHOR BARU: A Johor Islamic Religious Department (JAINJ) assistant officer has been slapped with three bribery charges amounting to RM26,800 at the Sessions court here.
Nurul Hazlin Hashim, 37, pleaded not guilty to all the charges read to him before Sessions Judge Ahmad Kamal Arifin Ismail on Wednesday (Feb 17).
According to the charge sheet, the accused allegedly accepted bribes from a supply company at a bank at Taman Mohd Yassin in Simpang Renggam between Oct 27 and Nov 4,2019.
In the first charge, Nurul Hazlin was accused of accepting a bribe worth RM12,800 from the company’s owner as an inducement for her to recommend the company for a seminar project titled Seminar Aqidah Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah Saudara Kita Negeri Johor 2019 between Oct 27 and Oct 29 that year.
