CRIMESTOPPER: Bronco McKart gave police a night off in 1996
It seemed that everyone in the city was busy watching a boxing match.
Monroe native Bronco McKart was fighting for a world title in California. ESPN was showing the bout live.
“They said there were no police calls during the time of the fight,” McKart said. “How true that is, I don’t know.”
But McKart does know that 25 years later that night still ranks as one of the pivotal moments of his life.
“No fight before or anytime in my career meant more to me,” he said.
Part of it was the enormity of the moment.
