Lions clubs delivers Christmas presents in style

Santa has swapped his slay for a Bently to deliver Christmas presents to a Coast charity this year. Generous Mooloolaba Lions and Lioness club members donated the gifts for Headspace at their annual Christmas dinner meeting in December. Santa and his helpers, including Jaz Hoy of Jaz Realty, delivered the presents to the charity office in Maroochydore using a Bentley with Santa’s Slay on the top – as the reindeer was resting for the big delivery on Christmas Eve. Headspace began in 2006 to provide tailored and holistic mental health support to 12 to 25-year-olds. With a focus on early intervention, the charity works with young people to provide support at a crucial time in their lives – to help get them back on track and strengthen their ability to manage their mental health in the future.

Plexiglass, sanitiser and masks: US mall Santas prepare for Christmas

BBC News By Silvia Martelli image captionChildren show Santa their gift wish lists in Seattle As the coronavirus rages in the US and health officials plead with Americans to stay home during the winter holidays, shopping malls are already hosting traditional visits with Santa Claus - except with festive new precautions in place. Santa Claus will still fly his reindeer-driven sleigh from the North Pole to your local mall, say his metaphorical marketing elves, despite Covid-19 travel restrictions in place across the world. But this year the iconic white beard might be more difficult for awestruck children to recognise behind a surgical mask or a plexiglass window.
