Registration is currently open, and packs can be picked up at 5 p.m. daily through Thursday, Dec. 31 at the library, 421 S. McClelland St. Register for the pack by visiting the Events Calendar at www.cityofsantamaria.org/Library or by calling the library, 805-925-0994.

The Santa Maria Public Library’s main library is open for sidewalk pick-up service, and for passport service by appointment. The branch libraries and bookmobile are open for grab-and-go service. Other in-person services are closed due to the Local Health Emergency declared by the county.

Santa Maria has appointed Todd Tuggle as interim fire chief following the retirement of Chief Leonard Champion
SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Santa Maria has appointed a new interim fire chief following the retirement of Chief Leonard Champion.
Santa Maria city manager Jason Stilwell announced Wednesday that Deputy Fire Chief Todd Tuggle will be assuming the role of chief beginning Saturday. Champion announced his retirement earlier this month.
Tuggle has been with the Santa Maria Fire Department since February and previously served 17 years with the Fresno Fire Department.
Tuggle graduated from Cal Poly in the 90s and in 2016 he earned his Master of Arts in Homeland Security from the Naval Postgraduate School.
