NISKAYUNA – Niskayuna Fire District No. 1 is set to host a Santa Drive-by Saturday.
The event is to run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. as the department drives Santa Claus himself through town.
“With covid-19 hampering many holiday traditions we felt that we needed to step up and bring the joy of the holidays to you,” the department wrote on Facebook.
The department also released a map to show approximate times when and where the honored guest will pass by.
Their first route is set to run from 10 a.m. to noon in an area roughly between Rosendale Road and Van Antwerp Road. The second route is to run from noon to 2 p.m. roughly between Providence Avenue down to Grand Boulevard and back up to River Road.

Santa greets excited families with special police convoy Santa and his sleigh swung by Bullbrook on Friday night to spread some festive cheer. Families were lucky enough to have a special Christmassy visit as Thames Valley Police escorted Santa through the streets. The Christmas convoy attracted residents attention with one woman thinking the police pulled over Santa and the festive MINI. Charlotte Brown said: Just when we thought 2020 couldn t get any worse Father Christmas gets pulled over by the police. The actual event saw Holly Spring Primary School, Thames Valley Police and the festive MINI collaborate together to bring the Santa Driveby to Bracknell.
