People from all over California and beyond gathered at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk on Saturday morning to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the iconic Giant Dipper roller coaster.
Corporations made the largest contributions to the campaign supporting Measure L, which would increase the sales tax in the city of Santa Cruz by a half percent.
Campaign finance disclosure statements for measures and offices on the city of Santa Cruz’s March ballot were recently published, and showed that real estate developers and contractors made the largest contributors to the campaign opposing Measure M while the group supporting Measure M received the majority of its donations from Santa Cruz residents.
After a six-year absence, the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk announced it will be replacing the Ferris wheel that was dismantled in 2017 with the new "Dream Wheel."
