Hays County continues to inch closer to 100,000 residents who’ve received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while nearly 37% of residents are fully vaccinated.
According to the Texas Department of State Health Service, 68,357 Hays County residents are fully vaccinated against the disease 37.28%. Additionally, 96,153 residents have received at least one dose, 52.43% of eligible Hays County citizens. The DSHS estimates that Hays County has a population of 183,380 who are 16 years or older.
Additionally, 86.4% of residents who are 65 years or older have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine, while 72.6% in the same age group are fully vaccinated, according to the DSHS.
The locations of the of the first clinics will be:
Sinai Pentecostal Church, 208 Laredo St., San Marcos on April 30
Santa Cruz Church, 1100 Main St., Buda on May 4
Dunbar Recreation Center, 801 Martin Luther King Dr., San Marcos on May 13

Hays County to hold three no-appointment COVID-19 vaccine clinics

SAN MARCOS, Texas - Hays County has three upcoming no-appointment Moderna COVID-19 vaccine clinics at locations around the county beginning this Friday.
Clinic hours at each location will be from 5-10 p.m. The no-appointment clinics are planned for the following dates and locations:
Friday, April 30 – Sinai Pentecostal Church, 208 Laredo St., San Marcos
Tuesday, May 4 - Santa Cruz Church, 1100 Main St., Buda
Thursday, May 13 - Dunbar Recreation Center, 801 Martin Luther King Dr., San Marcos
County Judge Ruben Becerra said his office is working to coordinate a clinic at St. Anthony s Church, 801 Burleson St. in Kyle, and that information will be released as soon as the details are confirmed.
Hays County will host two additional COVID-19 after-hour clinics, Judge Ruben Becerra’s office announced Thursday.
County Emergency Services Director Mike Jones and Becerra previously announced during Tuesday’s commissioner’s court meeting that a new walk-up vaccine clinic will be open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday at Sinai Pentecostal Church in San Marcos.
Thursday’s announcement stated that an after-hours clinic will also take place on Tuesday, May 4 at Santa Cruz Church, 1100 Main St. in Buda followed by a clinic on Thursday, May 13 at Dunbar Recreation Center, 801 Martin Luther King Dr., in San Marcos. Both clinics take place from 5 p.m.-10 p.m. on the respective days.
