Rajesh N, a visitor to Sankey Lake, said, “Recently, I visited Sankey Lake, and this unexpected sight of seeing dead fish floating in the lake has raised worries and questions about the health of the lake and the well-being of its aquatic ecosystem. Sankey Tank, known for its serene surroundings and lush greenery, has always been a favourite among locals and tourists seeking a peaceful escape. The presence of lifeless fish floating on the lake’s surface has triggered a sense of unease among visitors, raising concerns about environmental issues.”
A frequent visitor to Sankey Tank, Vishwas Murthy, expressed his surprise by stating, “I regularly walk near Sankey Bund Road. However, I am surprised to see that the creepers on Sankey’s boundary net are drying up. When there is water in Sankey Lake and trees around, I wonder why the Sankey bund creepers are drying up. Is it because they are being removed or due to poor maintenance?”
