The district police started a free bus service from Annavaram to Korukonda, which is a stretch of around 22 km, in Visakha agency on Monday. The bus will make three trips morning, afternoon and evening and will also make one trip to Chintapalli mandal headquarters, once a day, which is again over 20 km from Korukonda.

An awareness talk was organised by The Hindu FIC and Omega Cancer Hospitals jointly to create awareness for teachers and senior Intermediate students on the occasion of World Cancer Day, at APSW Residential School and Junior College, Meghadrigedda, here on Thursday.
Students and teachers listened in rapt attention as B. Ravi Shankar, Medical Oncologist and MD of Omega Cancer Hospitals, spoke on various aspects of breast and cervical cancers, such as causes, risk factors and preventive measures.

The Hindu FIC and Omega Hospitals, Health City, Visakhapatnam, are jointly organising a ‘Cancer Awareness talk and Screening’ for the benefit of the teachers and students of APSWR Jr. College, Meghadripeta on the occasion of World Cancer Day on Thursday.
The World Cancer Day, being observed annually on February 4 since 2000, is an initiative of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC). It is a campaign built to resonate, inspire change and mobilise action. The theme for this year’s Cancer Day is ‘I am and I will – Together all our actions matter’.
