A woman government employee and another person have been sentenced to three years' rigorous imprisonment in a bribery case in Rajkot. The woman, who was serving as the talati-cum-mantri of Kothariya gram panchayat, was convicted for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000 to issue a marriage certificate without any hassles. The Anti-Corruption Bureau laid a trap and caught the person accepting the bribe. The court found both of them guilty and handed them a three-year jail term.
