The Association said chemists and druggists across the state will launch a protest and call for a strike if there is no inquiry into their complaints over the alleged demand for money by Rathod’s staff.
Sanjay Rathod
MUMBAI: Shiv Sena minister Sanjay Rathod may have handed his resignation to CM Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday, but the CM has not yet forwarded it to governor B S Koshyari for approval. This means Rathod technically still holds the minister’s post.
After forest minister Rathod (49) submitted his resignation on Sunday, a day ahead of the start of the state assembly’s budget session, it was expected Thackeray would forward the letter to the governor immediately on Sunday evening or at least the next day (Monday). However, the resignation had not been sent to the governor till Tuesday evening, a senior Raj Bhavan official confirmed.
The BJP in Maharashtra had demanded Sanjay Rathod s resignation, even as the minister has denied that he had anything to do with the suicide case of Pooja Chavan. Rathod resigned on Sunday.
There has been a lot of dirty politics over the issue of the woman s death, Rathod told reporters, adding he has quit the ministry so that the truth can come out.
