Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday announced a 15-day âJanata Curfewâ by imposing stringent restrictions beginning from 8 pm on April 14 till 7 am on May 1. In order to avoid crowding, the government has also invoked Section 144 to ban assemblies of more than five people across the state. However, essential activities, including travel and services, are allowed.
Besides, in a bid to provide much-needed relief during the âJanata Curfewâ, Uddhav Thackeray announced a financial package of Rs 5,476 crore for the economically weaker sections, including families below the poverty line, women, the aged, widows, the physically challenged, the unorganised sector, rickshaw drivers, tribals, etc.
