DIMAPUR With an aim to empower unemployed youth and to strengthen the one district one product (ODOP) on fish, a two-day specialised skill training on post harvest management and processing of fish, organised by the Wokha district administration, in collaboration with the department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, got underway on Friday at Sanis town. An update from the district administration stated that the training was also aimed at enhancing the capacity of beneficiaries under the PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme. The programme also sought to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge in post-harvest management and processing techniques specific to the fish industry. It stated that the two-day skill training programme would cover various aspects of post-harvest management including proper handling, storage, packaging, value addition and quality control of fish products.
