January 29, 2021  By Adelola Amihere  In a bid to combat insecurity and boost commercial activities, the Minister of Aviation Senator Hadi Sirika has reiterated Federal Government commitment to resuscitate and ensure functional airstrips all over the country,  In a statement signed by Sani Datti for Director, Public Affairs, Ministry of Aviation, the Minister  stated this when a delegation sent by Emir of Hadejia and led by a former Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, Senator Ibrahim Hassan visited his office today. Speaking specifically on Hadejia airstrip, the Minister said many reasons have pushed for the resuscitation of airstrips among which was historical purposes and to combat insecurity in the country.

FG to resuscitate nation’s airstrips to curb insecurity On By Dirisu Yakubu The federal government is intensifying efforts to revive airstrips across the country in a bid to combat insecurity and boost commercial activities, Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika has said. The Minister stated this in Abuja, Thursday, while playing host to a delegation sent by the Emir of Hadejia, Alhaji Adamu Maje and led by former deputy governor of Jigawa state, Senator Ibrahim Hassan. Speaking specifically on Hadejia airstrip, the Minister said many reasons have been advanced for the resuscitation of airstrips among which was historical purposes and the need to fight insecurity in the country.

UPDATE: Body Count Reaches 7, Over 20 Injured In Adamawa Bombing - Entertainment Express

1 min read By Ayeotan Shola The Body toll from today’s bombing in the Adamawa IDP camp has been reported as seven (7) while over 20 people are carrying life threatening injuries. According to Sani Datti, the injured people are currently receiving immediate  treatment. “So far seven persons lost their lives and 20 persons were injured in the bomb blast that occurred in Malkohi Internally Displaced Persons camp,” Datti told Reuters “Among the injured, seven were treated and discharged while 13 persons including four NEMA officials are still receiving treatment,” he added. He said further that the blast occurred at about 10:50 am and was caused by an explosive device planted in a tent in the facility.
