Prayagraj: Allahabad University on Saturday announced it would be holding its convocation on September 23 the foundation day of the university since it was established on the day in 1887 as the fourth university in the country. The decision was taken in a virtual meeting chaired by vice-chancellor Prof Sangita Srivastava and attended by all the deans, heads of departments, the directors of institutes and coordinators of centres of the university on Saturday. “After discussion, it was decided that the next convocation would be held on September 23. Whether the event will be in online or offline will depend on the then prevailing Covid situation,” said the public relations officer (PRO) Jaya Kapoor.
