MJ Farruggia trekked more than 1,000 miles in the Sierra backcountry for 240 days and is “still not tired of it.”

A Mile Underground in The Quest for Dark Matter : UMass Amherst

No one has ever seen dark matter. But a group of researchers, including UMass Amherst physicists, is working to detect dark matter as part of the LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) experiment, which just delivered first results the very first step in helping to determine one of the fundamental mysteries of the universe.
