WORCESTER - COVID-19 proved to be the ultimate show-stopper.
But officials at the DCU Center, Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts and other entertainment venues in Central Mass. are hoping to pull back the curtains as soon as this fall.
Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, an infectious disease expert, indicated last weekend that theaters and concert halls could reopen before the end of the year.
“If everything goes right, this will occur some time in the fall of 2021, so that by the time we get to the early to mid-fall, you can have people feeling safe performing onstage as well as people in the audience,” Fauci said during a conference of the Association of Performing Arts Professionals, according to the New York Times.
