All 141 George Harrison Solo Songs Ranked Worst to Best

All 141 George Harrison Solo Songs Ranked Worst to Best George Harrison s music, much like the former Beatles star himself, tended toward both the uplifting and the downbeat. Often in one song. He relished taking the fight to liars, thieves, the unprincipled, politicians, record-label execs and other such scoundrels. But he also celebrated the light that surrounds it all and never stopped searching for the most personal kind of inner peace. “We were halfway through a great take when his drums disappeared in the mix. “I shouted: ‘Has something blown on the desk?’ But we suddenly heard Andy singing the chorus at the top of his voice, and then he said: ‘Man, I love this song’. The Big Takeover: David Bowie - Tryin To Get To Heaven / Mother (Parlophone)

David Bowie’s 74th birthday on 8 January, Parlophone Records has issued two of his previously unreleased covers: Bob Dylan’s “Tryin’ To Get To Heaven” and John Lennon’s “Mother.” Bowie recorded “Mother” in 1998 for a Lennon tribute that did not materialize and the track was left unreleased. Bowie shares co-producer status with his long-time friend and collaborator Tony Visconti, who also provided bass and vocals. With Reeves Gabrels on guitars, Jordan Ruddess on piano, and Richard Barone’s harmony vocals, the song is so smooth and seamless it makes one wonder why it has taken so long to surface.
