WEST HARTFORD The inaugural season of the Connecticut Shakespeare Festival, launched by West Hartford’s Playhouse on Park theater, has opened with a delightful production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” directed by Emma Rosa Went.
CONTRIBUTED
The cast of the Connecticut Shakespeare Festival’s production of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream.’
The strong cast, almost all making their Playhouse on Park debuts, work together to make the language and the humor accessible.
The first scene opens with Puck (Miss Sandra Mhlongo) pulling back a curtain to reveal the entire cast, followed by a musical introduction to the action that follows. The performance closes with another fine musical scene with everyone in the cast.
