Jan Bocas Ryan, board member of the NGO WAND, is asking the Government to consider giving it an annual subvention, “given our track record of good governance and delivery of projects on time, within budget, and timely reporting.”
Sandra Maharaj leaves TTT
VETERAN broadcaster Sandra Maharaj is leaving state-owned TV station TTT with immediate effect.
TTT CEO David Roberts on Friday told Newsday, “Her contract was not renewed. So it was not a termination or a firing, as some are saying. That is inaccurate. Her contract was not renewed.”
Roberts said it would be inappropriate to give any more specifics of Maharaj’s employment as TTT s head of news.
He repeated, “I can tell you the contact would have expired and it was not renewed.”
He confirmed that head of radio programming Gail Seegobin was also leaving TTT.
