Non-profits serving Saskatonians in need say the COVID-19 pandemic has upended their most lucrative fundraisers, leaving some with less cash as they enter a new year full of uncertainties.
YWCA Saskatoon CEO Cara Bahr said the pandemic forced YWCAs to move their fundraising online, where reaching donors is harder.

“I think the old models of fundraising just aren’t resonating with folks anymore,” Bahr said.
“The tricky thing with technology is it’s hard to trigger that emotional connection.”
