East Side woman charged in Saturday fatal shooting
Sandra Beall, 28, of the East Side, was arrested Sunday.
According to court records, Beall is accused of shooting 39-year-old Reginal Byrd, of the Far East Side, and 22-year-old James Mims, of the Southeast Side, around 12:20 p.m. Saturday.
The shooting happened on the 4900 block of Bottlebrush Drive on the Southeast Side.
Byrd and Mims were both rushed to area hospitals, however, Byrd succumbed to his injuries and died at 1:05 p.m. Saturday.
Detectives said Beall had been known to both Byrd and Mims and fled the scene after the shooting.
According to court records, witnesses at the scene told detectives a woman named Sandra had done the shooting. Detectives were able to identify Beall, who admitted to being with Byrd and Mims before the shooting but said she had left before the shots were fired.
