Carl Sandburg College is doing more to fulfill food needs for students during the pandemic.
With limited foot traffic in the Resource Room Food Pantry at the college this year, Sandburg is finding ways to bring the room and its contents to students.
Thanks to a donation from Mike and Mary Panther, the Resource Room was expanded at the start of the 2019-2020 academic year and has remained open by appointment during the pandemic with monthly deliveries of fresh produce, meat, frozen, and refrigerated food items from the River Bend Foodbank.
The community college also expanded the Resource Room at its Branch Campus in Carthage, receiving a portion of the monthly delivery from River Bend Foodbank.
