that the levee system appears to be holding. there have been minor problems, sand boils keep cropping up but thus far able to control them, there have been no major problems. the second piece of good news is that although the water is still rising in some places, in other places it is dropping, not a great deal yet, but it is going down somewhat. the estimates, as you mentioned it won t go back to normal until mid-june because there is so much water in the mississippi and in its tributaries, it still has to drain out of this system. now, it means that thousands and thousands of people are still out of their homes, and the full cost of this flooding has yet to be calculated. of course, as you mentioned, a lot of people make their living on the water, we went out yesterday in a tugboat and saw some of the challenges they re facing in this environment. the most important thing is the current. the volume of water is so great that the currents are at an unprecedented strength. it s making i
