UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will be considering "all options", including reducing the number of foreign students, in his bid to bring down the rising net migration in the United Kingdom, according to a report by the BBC.
An Indian diaspora-led student organisation on Friday urged the UK government to remove international students from the country’s overall immigration statistics amid unconfirmed reports that Prime Minister Rishi Sunak may be considering a crackdown on foreigners granted study visas.
The scheme will be up and running from early next year to offer up to 3,000 visas annually to Indian students and professionals aged between 18 and 30 to live and work in the UK for 24 months, with British nationals granted a similar offer for India.
