Nanni Fontana. After receiving a bachelor's degree in finance in 2003, Nanni Fontana began working as a news photojournalist.
Since 2009, he has been working as an independent photographer and has been focusing his work on in-depth reports and long-term projects on contemporary and health-related issues.
In 2008, he was commissioned La Moskitia. Gracias a Dios, a book about the extreme sanitary conditions of the Miskito Indigenous minority in rural Honduras.
In 2011, he published Medpeople, a book on the perspectives of young people living on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Between then and 2015, he worked on Out of Sight, a journalism and educational project on the HIV/AIDS epidemic after 30 years.
In 2015, along with journalists Marzio G. Mian and Nicola Scevola and photographer Massimo Di Nonno, Fontana founded the River Journal, a multimedia project reporting on current issues while exploring important rivers of the world.
