A federal judge on Monday rejected a bid by Ben & Jerry’s to block its parent company, Unilever, from moving forward with a deal to continue selling its ice cream in the West Bank – biblical Judea and Samaria – and eastern Jerusalem.
Ben & Jerry’s is suing parent company Unilever to stop the sale of its Israeli business to a local licensee, a move that would keep the ice cream maker’s products on store shelves in the West Bank and eastern Jerusalem.
Ben & Jerry’s ice cream will stay on store shelves in the West Bank – biblical Judea and Samaria – and eastern Jerusalem despite the ice cream maker announcing last year that it would stop selling its product there in protest of Israel’s settlement communities.
