The Center for Biological Diversity and Maricopa Audubon Society filed a formal notice of their intent to sue the U.S. Bureau of Land Management today for failing to protect endangered species in the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area from rampant trespass livestock grazing.
Environmentalists claim ranchers have been getting away with unfettered grazing that destroys the rangeland. Ranchers say they play by the federal government rules, which have become stricter over time and know the land the best to be good stewards.
