San Diego residents still picking up the pieces from devastating floods on Jan. 22 will have some relief as the city will waive fees starting Tuesday for demolition, recycling and other recovery efforts.
The San Diego City Council approved the waiving of fees for building and demolition permits, with the intention to help Jan. 22 flood victims save thousands of dollars with the rebuilding process.
Due to the predicted severity of the storm, Gov. Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency in eight counties, including the San Diego region, over the weekend.
