A Faithful Man of Uncommon Balance
Jack Edwards Byrom was born on March 2, 1929 in San Antonio, Texas, and died in Richardson, Texas on June 10, 2021. He grew up in the towns of Lytle and Somerset, surrounded by his loving parents and three brothers, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by his 3 children, Debbie Byrom Welch, Mary Byrom Beall, and James Edwards Byrom, their spouses, 8 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, all of whom know him as “Papa.” He had a unique and special relationship with each of his children and grandchildren, officiating at most of their weddings and baptisms. He had a keen interest in their success in life as well as their faith in God. His many friends often referred to him as “Brother Jack” or “Dr. Jack.”

‘Tis the season for graduation and Leadership San Marcos saw its most recent class celebrate the completion of the program.
On Tuesday evening Pam Gravis, this year’s president, congratulated the class on its dedication to the program during extraordinary circumstances citing the recent pandemic.
“It’s been challenging but the class of 2021 handled it like true leaders in our community,” Gravis said. “They forged ahead exhibiting perseverance and growth. I’m immensely proud of their accomplishments.
Gravis said that’s the idea behind Leadership San Marcos: To promote community awareness, personal and professional growth and civic involvement for tomorrow s leaders.
Print Vista Community Clinic has been giving out fresh and boxed food to support the health of patients and community members in need through food distributions for more than a decade. Since the onset of the pandemic, food distribution has increased and is offered up to four times a week, based on need, thanks to a number of local groups and nonprofits ranging from Feeding San Diego, Poder Popular and Coastal along with grants to the clinic. Diapers are also currently available, in various sizes. Parents and guardians of babies and young children can request a box of diapers when they call to schedule their food pick-up.
