Newark police say the victim was spotted at about noon. He was shot in the head. Detectives ruled out suicide pretty quickly because they did not find the gun in the car. The first officer arrived, checked on the person. They also initially believed that the person may have been drunk. And once they checked on the person then they realized that the victim had been shot. Reporter there ar businesses that have security cameras aimed at the scene of the shooting. Breaking news out of martinez this morning, investigators are trying to figure out how two cars caught on fire in the driveway of a home. Firefighters say flames from the car spread to part of the home on phyllis terrace before 2 00 this morning. Neighbors saw the fire then heard explosions. Crews say exploding tires likely caused the loud noise. The residents were home at the time and they say that no one was hurt.
