The San Joaquin Asparagus Festival, which once relied on thousands of acres of locally grown asparagus, is down to only one grower's plot of 200 acres.
Last week's freezing temperatures have devastated some of the Sacramento region's wine grapes. Some of the damage was clear when KCRA 3 visited some vineyards on the outskirts of San Joaquin County. Brown clusters on vines that would have been grapes are now damaged for the season.
February’s frost has led to San Joaquin County filing for an emergency declaration, which the San Joaquin Farm Bureau hopes will help farmers financially.
