San Elizario is getting ready to party.
The businesses in the San Elizario Historic District plan to throw a big fiesta in honor of Cinco de Mayo.
Al Borrego, who owns a studio and gallery in the district, said it will be the biggest celebration in the area and feels confident El Pasoans are ready to be outdoors and celebrate with them. The last Cinco de Mayo fiesta was in 2018.
A recent event, First Art Market in March, drew more than 1,000 people.
The fiesta, set for April 30 through May 2, will feature more than 15 performances and 45 vendors. The free three-day fiesta will be from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. April 30 and 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. May 1-2.
